PRESS RELEASE: Northwest Tune-Up Festival

To kick off the summer, the first Northwest Tune-Up Festival, a celebration of mountain biking, beer and music, will be held July 8-10, 2022. In an area teeming with avid bikers, big-name brewers and talented musicians, the NW Tune-Up is thrilled to bring together the many cultures that make the Pacific Northwest so special. Early bird tickets are on sale now.
The newly refurbished waterfront area of Bellingham will serve as the festival town centre, hosting races, demonstrations, concerts and libations. Nearby Galbraith Mountain, the city’s premier trail system, will be the base for mountain bike demonstrations and races on the festival hills.

“Ten years ago Brandon Watts and I began the dream of showcasing our amazing cycling community and the trails that drew us both to Bellingham. We’re also passionate about craft beer and music, so we’re thrilled to have a team of beer, bike and music industry stars bringing the NW Tune-Up to Bellingham. “—Eric Brown, NW Tune-Up Co-Creator.
Tune-Up will feature live music on two waterfront stages. “It’s a perfect setting: incredible musicians perform as the sun sets behind the San Juan Islands,” said Hunter Motto, head of music for the NW Tune-Up as well as the Crocodile in Seattle.

“The Port of Bellingham is delighted to be working in partnership with the NW Tune-Up. This flagship event will contribute to the economic development of our region. It will also be an opportunity not just for mountain bikers, but for our entire community, to really experience what the Waterfront District has to offer now and in the future. – Rob Fix, Port of Bellingham Executive Director.
The three-day festival will be action-packed and family-friendly, drawing crowds from near and far. From morning yoga sessions on the seafront to bike races around town, followed by evenings filled with music and local ales, there will be endless opportunities to enjoy all that Bellingham has to offer. There’s something for the whole family to do every day of the event, with activities and events ranging from the waterfront to Fairhaven to Galbraith. In the spirit of collaboration, the Tune-Up is dedicated not only to providing a fantastic weekend of fun, but also to lasting impact filled with recreational opportunities and revitalized infrastructure that contributes to the region’s heritage. .
