East Lansing, Michigan – The Michigan State women’s golf team is playing its final regular season tournament of the year this weekend at the Lady Buckeye Invitational.

The Buckeye Invitational will begin on Friday April 15 with 36 holes and end on Saturday April 16 with 18 holes.

The tournament will be played on the Ohio State Golf Club’s 6,319-yard, par-72 Scarlet Course and will begin each day with an 8:30 a.m. tee shot. Teams will play six and count the four lowest scores.

5. Valentina Rossi (So., Rosario, Argentinian)
6. Nina Rissi (Jr., Barcelona, ​​Spain)

The 10-team field includes Illinois, Indianapolis, Kent State, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, host Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers and Xavier.

Michigan State shot a par 309 from 21 in the final round and finished sixth among 18 teams at the Clemson Invitational in late March. The Spartans were in second place and only two shots behind Kentucky going into the final round. LSU shot a par 292 from 4 on the final lap to move up from third place and finished first in the field at 27 on the par 891. Brooke Bierman was MSU’s top finisher, tied for third at 2 by 218.

The Lady Buckeye has been good for the Spartans over the years as Michigan State has won the tournament six times, the most of any school outside of Ohio State. MSU Lady Buckeye Championships under Head Coach Stacy Slobodnik Stoll came in 2005, 2011, 2013 and 2017. MSU edged Texas by one shot in the final round to win in 2017, finished third in 2018 and second in 2019, the last time it was played.
