SSM’s Marika Selzler Named Focus Specialist for City of Philadelphia Office of Sustainability

McCoy’s Spotts, Stevens and Marika Selzler has been appointed as a tune-up specialist by the City of Philadelphia Office of Sustainability.
The City of Philadelphia’s New Building Energy Performance Policy (BEEP) requires a “Tune-Up Specialist” to lead all tune-up assessments and approve all tune-up reports submitted to the Office of Sustainability from the city. Individuals must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification and at least seven years of combined educational and professional experience in commercial building operations and/or management building energy.
Selzler is a member of SSM’s Energy and Sustainability Services team. With a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, she brings a wealth of experience that includes:
- energy benchmarking, load profiling and long-term trend analysis of commercial facilities, industrial facilities and vehicle fleets
- Continuous commissioning based on BAS (building automation system) and Analytics-as-a-Service of commercial buildings
- calculate and assess emissions from existing systems, buildings, campuses and fleets, and improvements made by conservation, efficiency and fuel switching projects
- oversee the preparation of energy audits and reports
